SimShaker - Wheels version 2.35 published

Hi guys,
new in this version:

  • added Project CARS 2 shared memory reading. To enable this option please mark Read Shared Memory 2 checkbox in Project CARS1/2 options at Game Specific Settings tab;
  • added Customized Samples Subfolder selector on the Advanced Options tab. Please read this my post to find more details;
  • SimShaker - Wheels main window position on the screen now remembered.

SimShaker - Wings v.1.14 published

Hi guys,
this version supports PC Version for Microsoft Windows of  AeroFly FS 2 and features 6 effects:
  • G-Force, 
  • Ground Bumps, 
  • Landing Gear, 
  • Speed Air Break,
  • Flaps Induced Shudders, 
  • Stall.
Talking about Flaps and Stall FXs. 
Aerofly FS 2 reports VFE,VS0, VS1 speeds. If you extract flaps at the speed higher than VFE the Flaps FX will be activated. And if you fly at the speed lower than reported VS0, VS1 speeds Stall FX will be activated, taking into account a plane configuration.

To get telemetry data from the game AFS2-SimShaker-Wings.dll  plugin will be automatically added into your Documents\Aerofly FS 2\external_dll folder.
To make this plugin work you need Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 or Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 package to be installed. You can download it from
Microsoft web-site.

There are some general GUI improvements:
  • Every single FX can be easily enabled/disabled by a checkbox along with its header. That may be very useful while fine tuning, when you might want to adjust FXs one by one. Using the checkbox you can keep untouched already adjusted gain sliders.
  • Every FX has its own activity indicator, that looks like an LED. If the FX becomes active LED becomes green. On my opinion that may improve general situation awareness.
  • More Options ( > ) buttons have slightly changed their locations due to adding new GUI elements.
SimShaker-Wings-Launcher
  • Added Open Program Folder button to let you easily locate where the application is installed. This may be useful if you want to add the folder as exclusion to Windows Defender, for example. If you press the button the full path string also will be inserted into log text box.
  • Added Restore button, which may restore SimShaker - Wings.exe file if the latter was removed by Windows Defender from a backup copy.

SimShaker - Wheels beta version 2.28 published

Hi guys,
I've postponed some other tasks and re-factored Engine Beat effect as you had asked.
New FX is available in fresh published beta version 2.28
Group-box Engine Beat now features a new small button [>] which means "More Options available for this FX".
When you press it a new More Options window will be opened.
Default value of a threshold to trigger FX is 65% of Max RPM reported by a game, since I've tried to implement the new FX according to Mr Latte submission. By default the FX gain will increase from about 5 % when it's triggered proportionally to RPMs and will reach 100 % at max engine RPMs. You can disable that gain change by "Constant Gain" checkbox.
The algorithm is the same for both JetSeat and bass-shakers.

If you set "Start Effect at  % of Max RPMS" value to 0 the FX will work as it worked before. Just in case if anybody will miss it.



Important note: new FX uses samples 7.wav(uwv), the old one still uses samples 2.wav(uwv).

I've tried the new FX out with just Assetto Corsa yet. Let's try it out with other games.

Please keep under control your antiviral software while application updates and starts for the first time, especially if it's Windows Defender. I'd prefer to spent more time on further developing of the application, than explain again and again how to restore it after Windows Defender attacks.

SimShaker for Aviators vs SimShaker Sound Module

Guys, I'd like to kindly ask you to not mix up free to use SSA by Olaf and pay-ware addon SimShaker Sound Module by Andre. That misunderstanding makes troubles for us, as developers.
Hundreds of Gametrix JetSeat owners use SSA absolutely free. SimShaker Sound Module is just an addon to bring new capabilities, but not the core software.
SSA can be used without Sound Module, but not vise versa.

SimShaker - Wings beta v.1.10 with AeroFly FS 2 support published

Antiviral software false positively detects SimShaker executable files. What to do?

Hi guys,
I've got a lot of complaints caused by Windows Defender and some other antiviral software false positively detecting SimShaker executable files as containing a trojan.

First of all, there is no viruses in my software. Some of my files a protected from hacking and that causes some aggressive antiviral software to false positively detect them as a malware. You can extra check my files with www.virustotal.com service (or any other similar service) if you are in a doubt. You can also read more about this problem in this lifehacker.com article.

What to do if  antiviral software blocks SimShaker installation?

Try to temporarily disable antiviral software and install SimShaker. After installation enable antiviral software back again.

What to do if SimShaker crashes when a game starts or shows a helper message that a file is not found by Launcher?

Please go to antiviral software scan history and look for quarantined simshaker exe file(s). If the file is found, select it and restore to its original location. It may not be displayed in Windows Defender list when you just open it. In such a case I go to Defender history, back to the list and (oh, miracle!) file is in the list and now I can restore it.

In general, antiviral software remembers the restored file as safe and does not remove the file again. But it can try to do that again after SimShaker update. Be aware.
I add those helper messages into the latest versions of SimShaker, but some versions still may just crash if the file was "stolen" or blocked by antiviral software.

If you'd like to report Microsoft that they accidentally block a good piece of software, you can follow by this link. You will be asked for detected virus name and Windows Defender data base version.
I did that number of times, but currently I can not do that, since I replaced Windows Defender by another (more smart and handy on my opinion) protective software.

SimShaker - Wheels beta version 2.15 published

Hi guys,
this time support for F1 2017 added. Please read SimShaker - Wheels User Guide in order to enable transmission of telemetry data from the game via UDP. This time I've decided to keep default Codemasters port 20777, since the game it seems allows to enable just one UDP transmitter to one port number. Hopefully this will provide compatibility with other telemetry data consumers.

SimShaker - Wings beta version 1.4 published

Hi guys,
I'd like to introduce you my new project SimShaker-Wings and its beta version 1.4, featuring FXs for Falcon BMS and War Thunder Aviation games.



The very first supported title in recently released version of SimShaker - Wings is Falcon BMS. That's why F-16 fighter is on the cover. As usually, you can find release version at our Downloads page, and you can buy a license in Andre's e-shop.

Beta version of SimShaker - Wings features War Thunder Aviation support. Not all FXs are available or precise in case of War Thunder due to limited available data amount available to extract from the game, but that's much-much better than nothing. As you may know a 32-bit War Thunder Aviation client features few native hard-coded  JetSeat effects, but a 64-bit War Thunder Aviation client  has nothing to play on Gametrix JetSeat.
I've found that native game FXs may interfere with SimShaker - Wings JetSeat effects and spoil each other in some cases, just not be surprised. The problems is not actual in case of 64-bit game client and/or bass-shakers FXs. If you have a 64-bit operation system you can switch between 32 and 64-bit modes in War Thunder launcher options.
You can find download link for beta version in the User Guide. That's a good reason to have a look on the manual before you start ;)

SimShaker - Wings software supports up to 6 bass-shakers along with the Gametrix JetSeat.
Bass-shakers support is an option to buy, which allows me to keep base SimShaker - Wings software price lower.

Well, you may ask, what's next in SimShaker - Wings? I have some sketches for Aerofly FS 2 and IL-2 Sturmovik CloD. That's in my short list.
Hopefully one day we (i.e. 3rd party devs) will be allowed to get data from IL-2 Sturmovik BoK(S,M).... We'll see.

SimShaker - Wheels beta version 2.7 published

this time added:
  • Compressor feature for audio subsystem (works with bass-shakers); 
  • Download More Presets link to a web-page where I'm going to collect community members shared presets.

Enable Compressor option allows to reduce a huge noise which Buttkicker GR2 may produce when clipping high level signals. Usually that occurs when more than on FXs are played simultaneously or gain sliders are set to high positions to emphasize "small details". Compressor reduces high level signals, keeping FXs with low level signals to be clearly "pronounced".

SimShaker - Wheels beta version 2.6 published

Hi guys,
this time F1 2016 support is added.


Integration with PC version of F1 2016

Close the game.
Using Windows Notepad (or other appropriate editor) edit <motion> section of your
"C:\Users\[your_login]\Documents\My Games\F1 2016\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml" file
to make the game sending telemetry data to SimShaker via UDP.
It should look about like this example. Essential for SimShaker - Wheels parameters marked bold.

SimShaker - Wheels version 2.5 published as stable

new in this version comparing with the previous 1.5 stable version:
  • added bass-shakers support;
  • pCARSOculus64.exe and pCARSOculus.exe added to SimShaker "watch for games" list.
  • added context menu (Show, Exit) to the tray icon;
  • added 6 channels (5.1 format) bass-shakers support. Don't be surprised if the radio button is still inactive, since this sophisticated feature is for advanced users, I'm going to sell it as an option for another $30. Hence the base SimShaker - Wheels software price remains the same ($30 at the moment) ;
  • fixed the "overflow" error causing crash and restart of SimShaker - Wheels software when the car is crashed in Assettto Corsa;
  • having some questions incoming about curbs FX, I've decided to emphasise in GUI that curbs (or rumble strips in terms of Project CARS shared memory data) FX is implemented in Project CARS and rFactor-based sims, where I'm able to extract explicit data about it. With other titles curbs are played as small bumps, not so much sensible;
  • Wheel Slip/Wear FX is adjusted for RRRE, according to the latest changes in the game. Thanks Oliver Johann for the valuable feedback; 
  • added Start SimShaker-Wheels-Launcher with Windows option;
  • minor GUI improvements.

Using 'Generate -> Tone' tool in Audacity

For example, let's generate sine wave tone with 33 Hz frequency, about 200 ms long.

To save it as .WAV file use File - Export Audio option



Please pay attention to Project Rate 48 kHz, and 32-bit float format.
You can also save your wave as an Audacity Project (.AUP) for further use.

SimShaker - Wheels beta version 1.5 published

Hi guys,
new in this version:
  • reverted longitudinal G-force effect with iRacing fixed;
  • minor logging changes;
  • missed storage of AMS user selected location fixed;
  • added possibility to customize FXs vibration patterns (see the picture below).

SimShaker-Wheels app will look first for customized FX file in User Documents\SimShaker-Wheels\JetSeat\Customized folder. If the file not found, it will be loaded from User Documents\SimShaker-Wheels\JetSeat\Base folder. You should place in the 'Customized' folder only files you want to be different from the initial 'Base' set.

To modify JetSeat FX files with .uwv extension you can use specially designed UWVeditor app. To start it press the correspondent button at SimShaker-Wheels-Launcher.

Some tips for using UWVeditor:

Axe X (horizontal) - Time Scale,
Axe Y(vertical) - Vibration Amplitude (0 - 255)

Left Mouse Button action:
- Drag vibration points;

Right Mouse Button actions:
- Add Vibration;
- Remove Vibration;
- Add Vibration Point;
- Remove Vibration Point;
- Expand Time Scale;
- Shrink Time Scale.
